Śloka 31:

sthūlaḥ kṛśas-tathā śuṣkaḥ vakraḥ paṅguḥ śarīrataḥ |
atas-teṣāṃ na sarvāṇi vihita-anya-āsanāni vai ‖

There are different body structures,
therefore not all Āsana are enjoined.

Śloka 33:

abhyāsa-samaye nityaṃ reca-pūraka-kumbhakān |
yathā-śakti prakuḥ vīta rītya-ujyāyvā vilambataḥ ||

During the practice one must constantly engage
in regulating the exhale, inhale and retention.
Ujjāyī is to be smooth and slow,
according to the strength or capability of the student.

Śloka 34:

reca-pūraka-kumbheṣu mano’nusaraṇaṃ smṛtam |
reca-pūraka-kumbhākhyāḥ sarve prāṇavidhārakāḥ ||

Remember the mind should follow the exhale, inhale and retention.
Exhale, inhale and retention all support the vital force.

prāṇa-prakopāt-sarvāṇi vikṣiptāni caranti hi |
manasā saha bāhyeṣu viṣayeṣu viṣātmasu |
tasmāt-prāṇam nigṛnhīyāt reca-pūraka-kumbhakaiḥ ‖

Śloka 45:

āsanena vinā prāṇāyāmaḥ sidhyati na eva hi |
vinā prāṇa nirodhena na manaḥ sthiratāṃ vrajet ||

Without Āsana, truly, Prāṇāyāma cannot become accomplished.
Without containing Prāṇa, the mind cannot achieve steadiness.

Śloka 67:

jālandharākhaya-bandhasya mūlam-uḍyāna-bandhanam |
niyamen-uḍḍīyānasya bandhasya-ābhyāsato dṛḍham |
nāḍīcakrāṇi śuddhāni bhavanti balavanti ca ||

Uḍḍīyāna Bandha is a pre-requisite for the
other two Bandha, Jālandhara and Mūla.
From the practice of Uḍḍīyāna Bandha the
Nāḍī and Cakra become purified and strengthened.

yathā-adhikāram mantrāṇām prāṇāyāme prayojayet |
sarva-roga-cikitsāsu prāṇāyāmaḥ phala-pradaḥ ‖

According to one’s capability and reference,
Prāṇāyāma done along with Mantra yields fruits
in the treatment of all kinds of diseases.

Śloka 85:

cikitsataḥ prāṇa-gatiṃ parīkṣya-ādau pravartayet |
rogiṇo deha-śaktiṃ ca na-anyathā phala-dāyakaḥ ‖

If engaging therapeutically, firstly
examine the gait of the breath
and the power of the body.
Otherwise it will not bestow fruits.

āsaneṣu yathā na-eva kramasya niyamaḥ kṛtaḥ |
prathama-abhyāsa-asinastadvat prāṇāyāmeṣu sarvataḥ ||

Just as in Āsana practice,
proper procedure should never be given up,
beginners in doing Prāṇāyāma,
should always follow the correct procedure.
