Yoga Sūtra Chapter Three verse 43
बहिरकल्पिता वृत्तिः महाविदेहा ततः प्रकाशावरणक्षयः ॥४३॥
bahiḥ akalpitā vṛttiḥ mahā-videhā tataḥ prakāśa-āvaraṇa-kṣayaḥ ||43||
External non-imaginary fluctuation is the great discarnate,
bahis - externalakalpitā - non-imaginaryvṛtti - fluctuation; modification; turning; set in motion, course of action, behaviour, movement; activity, function; profession, mode of life or conduct, course of action, behaviourmahā - greatvideha - discarnate, without body; bodiless, incorporealtatas - hence, from thatprakāśa - clearness, brightness, splendour, lustre, light; visible, shining, brightāvaraṇa - covering, hiding, concealing; shutting, enclosing; an obstruction, interruptionkṣaya - diminish, wasting or wearing away
hence the covering of the light diminishes.
