Commentary by S Ramaswami:

“By Saṃyama on the sun comes knowledge of the universe.

We now have in the next three Sūtras, Bhūta Siddhi or master of the knowledge within the universe.

Some commentators say this takes place within the body.
Vyāsa’s 7 Loka can be compared to the 7 Cakra
i.e, the Macrocosm to the Microcosm.

Some people say that only the first paragraph of Vyāsa’s commentary is original.
Because the later parts are said to be the Jainist rather than Vedic and are therefore unacceptable.

Bhuvana can also be the space between the three Loka from the earth up to the Svaḥ Loka.
However whether the experience is in Citta Ākāśa or Bhūta Ākāśa it cannot be termed a Vikalpa.

Some say it is a Bhūta Ākāśa.
You may experience it by inner concentration but the Loka exist in space.
In fact worshipping and gazing at the sun is part of the daily Pūjā and prayer.”
