Commentary by S Ramaswami:
“By Saṃyama on Pratyaya both in one’s own mind and others, knowledge of the Citta of others arises.
This Saṃyama is more on the feeling or patterns of thought rather than a particular thought.
The Sāṃkhya Kārikā 44 divides the various Pratyaya or Citta Vṛtti into 50 depending upon the predominant characteristic of Buddhi.
There are many varieties but four broad groups. Viparyaya, Aśakti, Tuṣṭi, Siddhi.
Bhoja comments that by contemplating on various facial expressions you can read that person’s thoughts.”
