Sāṃkhya Kārikā verse 13
sattvaṃ laghu prakāśakam-iṣṭam-upaṣṭambhakaṃ calaṃ ca rajaḥ |
guru varaṇakam-eva tamaḥ pradīpavat-ca-arthataḥ vṛttiḥ ||
