The Viniyoga of Āsana Practice & Theory Modules Two-Seven
– Empower your Body Exploring how to Customise Āsana
The Art of Application of Āsana Modular Courses are limited to a maximum of five students to allow for a personalised approach and in-depth transmission between teacher and student. They are a series of 4 day course modules, comprising either a single 4 day meeting or two 2 day meetings over 3 months.
Yoga is a process to train a student,
not a training to process a teacher.
Based in the Cotswolds, they are intended for those students who, having completed the Application of Āsana Module One Workshop or the Āsana Online eStudy Module One, wish to explore further, through a series of 4 day course modules, the primary principles and teachings from T Krishnamacharya and TKV Desikachar on the art of advanced application of Āsana either for personal development or, if relevant, to enhance professional skills.
They are presented with the aim of reflecting the fundamentals of Śrī T Krishnamacharya’s teaching, namely, transmission occurs through the direct experience of the teacher with the student’s personal practice and study Sādhana.
The Art of Application of Āsana – Modules Two to Seven Framework
The Art of Application of Āsana Modular Courses reflects the teachings of TKV Desikachar and his teacher T Krishnamacharya as taught to Paul Harvey over 25 years through:

To present a view of the Application of Āsana to help develop our practice and deepen our relationship with Yoga. They are offered with respect for the vital source from which these Yoga teachings originated and their place in our age and culture.
The Art of Application of Āsana – Modules Two-Seven Professional
Even though the Yoga Practice and Theory teachings and techniques developed through the Art of Viniyoga of Āsana Modular Courses can enhance any Yoga Teachers professional skills in the area of Yoga Teaching and Yoga Therapeutic Healthcare there is no requirement to teach or to intend to teach Yoga. This is not the role of the course.
These days there is lots of talk on what is involved in training to be a Yoga Teacher,
however little talk on what is involved in training to be a Yoga Student.
In fact not everybody wants to or actually needs to become a Yoga teacher to further their practice and study. Here the priorities are towards personal development and thus questions relating to our personal practice and study are the priorities. The Viniyoga of Āsana Modular Courses reflects this viewpoint.
The aim is that we are all here in this course as students and it offers an opportunity for all teachers to step back from their teaching role and re-enhance their personal study and practice path.
In addition they are an essential prerequisite for those interested in training to teach Yoga, or develop existing teaching skills.
For me, observing a students personal practice skills are a vital aspect in accessing their preparedness for teaching the core principles of practice to others.
